Ross sighed quietly. I wonder how long it will take to get there. He pondered as he continued down the path to Seltryla Lake. Father said Yellowstone Valley had Jolteon's, and it was possible for me to catch one there. But they're rare, he said... But I'll find one.
Totodile was in his Pokeball, hidden under Ross's jacket on his belt, along with the five other empty balls. He'd spent some time training with the Pokemon, unbeknownst to his father, seeing as Ross had used one of the man's old Pokemon. Thankfully, it had known to go easy, for it could of really hurt Totodile, and Ross didn't want to harm the Pokemon physically or mentally, for he would also suffer a loss.
The water Pokemon had actually done quite well, and Ross was proud of him. He's already turning into a great friend, and hopefully a powerful Pokemon. He turned his attention away from his thoughts and to the appearing lake.

A Mudkip's head popped out of the water. It smiled at them and then hopped out of the water.
<HI!>

Ross blinked in surprised, he hadn't expected to meet another Pokemon so quickly. His hand went to the ball Totodile was in, but as if sensing it (Or maybe it was coincidence, Ross wasn't sure) the Pokemon appeared out of the ball, head titled to the side as it stared happily at the Mudkip; bubbly as ever.

The Mudkip smiled and waved to the Totodile with its fin.

After a couple moments of blank faced staring, Totodile smiled back, waving one of his own blue arms in response to the Mudkip's hello.
Ross watched, somewhat surprised, as the two blue water pokemon interacted, seemingly unafraid of each other. Interesting.

The Mudkip then waved back and then jumped back into the lake.

That was interesting... Why didn't-- Perhaps because I didn't say to? Ross watched the little blue Pokemon make its way back into the lake, then as Totodile turned back to face him, the smile faded. The boy knelt beside him, placing a hand on his head and smiling slightly, "Seemed like a nice friend." He said, earning a nod from Totodile, who smiled once more.

Two Spearow were arguing in a nearby tree.

Both trainer and Pokemon turned to look at the quarreling duo, and Ross raised an eyebrow as he and Taiga locked eyes. The boy smirked, standing and taking a few steps back, "Taiga, Water Gun!"
The little blue Pokemon turned to face the two birds, and with a quick breath, launched a stream of water in their direction.

The birds were sent flying into the air... Far away...

Ross placed a hand over his mouth to hide his laugh as he watched the surprised expression cross Tagia's face, "A little hard there buddy." He said, lowering his hand to reveal the smile.

A Pidgey watched them from a tree branch.

Tagia's attention was drawn by it, and surprise Ross. How had he noticed it? It hadn't made a sound. The boy had always liked pidgeys, and other flying pokemon. "How about a softer attack this time, eh? Bubble." He took a step back as the little blue water Pokemon took a deep breath, then sent a shower of bubbles streaming at the Pidgey.

The Pidgey in the tree avoided the attack by jumping onto another branch higher. It chirped at them.

"Taiga, Water Gun! Aim it high." The Pokemon did as it was told, spraying the sharp water just above the Pidgey's head. Ross's thinking was that if it tried to avoid by jumping higher, it would therefore get hit.
